How To Use A Motorcycle Visor Cleaner

By Bonnie Contreras

Riding a motorcycle can be extreme and a strong and high quality helmet visor is needed to be safe. Most people just use cleaners that are available at home just as long as it can wipe out unnecessary dirt smudged into the armor. Finding the right kind of motorcycle visor cleaner is easy since it is readily available in the supermarkets.

Check on your skills first before deciding to jump and clean the visor. A professional help may be needed which is offered by car shops and is a less stressful thing to do. Whatever you may decide on, just make sure that the helmet is scrubbed at once every week.

Washing a helmet can be very tricky. It is not as easy as it looks. The method of disinfecting includes gathering needed materials and undressing the gear. A worn out cloth and furniture wax will not improve how it looks. The screen can be the key protective gear in the middle of the road so it is best to be very careful in cleaning this.

The next step to the process is gathering the materials needed for cleaning. There are packages that include a sponge, and the liquid screen cleaner. If you have purchased one, most likely the rest of the materials are mostly found in your house. Test the sponge first if this is soft and does not scratch the visor when used.

Collect cotton buds or a tooth brush that is not of use for this may be helpful in tidying the insides. Keep the materials and choose a counter for you to work on. A faster process in drying would be with the aid of the sun. Place it along a secure work top so that it would be easy to grab hold of the materials.

After you are done preparing, make sure that your hands are clean as well as the cloth you will be using. Using a used sponge can damage the paint work in your shield. Grab your camera and take pictures of the helmet including the insides before you fiddle with it.

Once done, take down the parts one at a time. Remove the screws and lay the parts piece by piece. Arranged what you have removed in a manner wherein it would be easy for you to attach them back in. Unhook the pads and cloth lining and let them sit in warm water and soak them with a disinfectant or something alike.

Clean the visor with the free non invasive sponge in the package or with a soft cloth. Use your fingers to travel around the glass looking for any signs of dirt and remove it if you can. Once this is dry, coat it with a spray that prevents fogging. Use the old brush to clean the unreachable spaces and shine the shell with a clean soft cloth.

Grease the parts with wax and gather together the parts in proper order with the help of the photos you took. Secure the screws back and shine the whole armor with wax. Place the remaining motorcycle visor cleaner in a secure place.
