Why Campervan In New Zealand?
Is New Zealand A Good Place To Campervan?
Driving around in a campervan means you can visit anywhere you want and are not limited by time or bus schedules. New Zealand offers two islands filled with unique activities and stunning landscape for you to check out. There are plenty of hidden gems tucked away in the valleys and hiding behind the mountains of New Zealand. The more remote the location, the more rewarding the experience. Guided tours and coach trips often drive right past the best spots as they cannot get access. In your own campervan you can chill and enjoy the scenery until you actually want to leave.
Is It Expensive?
A tough question to give an accurate answer to.. There are some different factors that will affect your costs such as the style of camper, where you park at night, the amount of people on the trip, if you eat out or cook for yourselves.. There are lots of Department of Conservation park up spots designed for those traveling around New Zealand in a campervan and some have showers, toilets and power. Grap a map or check online at the DOC website for information. To stay in a holiday park can be as much as $30 per person. That is crazy, and if you are already paying for a camper, why spend this much money?
Relaxing
It is hard to explain to those who have not been to New Zealand the true magnitude of the beauty. Around every corner another spectacular site and across each ridge is another epic mountain pass. Images of campervans parked up by the lake with kayaks paddling in the distance has been a dream of mine for years. Even the driving is fun as the roads wind and turn through forests and across mountains.
Friendship/Romance
When you and a friend chose to travel together in a campervan, you will have the best time of your lives (well, most of the time!). There wil be no more missed sunsets along the West Coast of New Zealand, and plenty of nights cuddled up under the stars in your cosy camper. There is something very intimate about living in your camper for a few weeks while traveling around.
Should I Rent or Buy A Campervan?
It all depends on the length of your stay. If you are only coming to New Zealand for one week, then renting a campervan is an ideal option, but if you are here on a three month holiday then having a campervan will make your experience far more enjoyable.
